RESO, in conjunction with Austin Board of REALTORS® and CoreLogic, is excited to learn more about the breakthrough ideas you are building on top of the standardized RESO data set made available to you by the Austin Board of REALTORS®, CoreLogic and the Real Estate Standards Organization(RESO) via a Development Reference Server.

RESO Innovation Competition Survey

Submit a Pitch Video of the innovation created based upon use of the ABOR, CoreLogic and RESO MLS Data Developmental Reference Server. Pitch Videos are to be a minimum of 3 minutes and a maximum of 10 minutes. The entry must demonstrate the use of the Developmental Reference Server within the entry as part of the submission with an explanation of how the reference server was used in creating the innovation. All Submissions must be uploaded and made available to RESO on DropBox by March 15, 2018.

RESO Staff will review each entry to ensure the qualification requirements are met between February 21st and March 1st.

What can you win?

RESO will provide the winners with travel accommodations to the RESO Spring Technology Summit to include Economy Class Flight** from the closest major airport to the winner, up-to 3 nights of hotel accommodations, a free RESO Spring Technology Summit Pass and each winner will be given a minimum of 15 minutes on stage to present their innovation to the RESO Spring Technology Summit Attendees on Wednesday, April 25th, 2018.

RESO will provide one individual from the winning participants’ qualified eligible entry with flight and hotel travel accommodations to the RESO Spring Technology Summit held to to present Wednesday, April 25th.

Additionally, each winner will be given a minimum of 15 minutes on stage to present their submission to the RESO Spring Technology Summit attendees. The Summit pass will include breakfast and lunch provided on April 24th, 25th and breakfast on the 26th as well as access to hosted receptions on the 23rd, 24th and 25th. Winners will be responsible for expenses outside of the foregoing. One additional RESO Spring Technology Summit Pass will be provided to any additional Individuals from a Team entry.

*RESO must receive a Minimum of 25 entries for the contest to be valid. If less than 25 entries are provided, RESO will decide if the contest will be cancelled or continue based upon the entries. RESO reserves the right to cancel the contest if less than 25 entries are received (as a note, over 450 have asked for access to date)

The Top 3 winners as selected by the judges will win a trip to the RESO Spring Technology Summit. Winners will be notified between March 21st and March 31st, 2018.

RESO reserves the right to utilize the winning videos and entrants in related press releases and blog releases and featured on RESO’s website.

Entrants that would like their videos posted out to the RESO Membership and website even if not winning will have the opportunity to request RESO permission to do so and RESO will facilitate posting at its own discretion.

Constance Freedman

Constance Freedman is the Founder and Managing Partner of Moderne Ventures, an early stage investment fund focused on technology companies innovating in and around real estate, mortgage, finance, insurance and home services.

Prior to launching Moderne, Constance was the head of Strategic Investments at the National Association of Realtors® where she launched and managed its investment arm, Second Century Ventures (SCV), and founded its accelerator program, REach, in 2009 and 2013 respectively. During her tenure with NAR, Constance invested in over 30 technology companies and helped bring them to market in the real estate industry and beyond. She was active on several company boards including DocuSign, Updater , Ifbyphone and Xceligent.

Constance came to Second Century Ventures with a background in Venture Capital, Technology and Real Estate. Prior to joining SCV, Constance was an investor with Cue Ball, an early and growth stage investment fund focused on the information services and consumer sectors. Constance began her career spending 7 years on an operating capacity at technology start-ups Molecular (backed by CMGI, acquired by Isobar) and (acquired by Lawson). Constance was a practicing real estate agent for three years prior to starting her career in technology.

In 2014, Constance was recognized by Crain’s Business in its prestigious 40 under 40 award and was named on Crain’s Chicago Top Tech 50. Constance was also recognized in both 2014 and 2015 as one of the top 200 most powerful individuals in residential real estate by Swanopoel’s “Power 200.”

Constance served on the Advisory Board for the National Venture Capital Association’s Corporate Venturing Group from 2010-2013 and is on the board of overseers for the non-profit, From the Top. She is also an active Mentor for startups at TechStars and other accelerator groups.
Constance earned a BS from Boston University and a MBA from Harvard Business School

Mark Birschbach

Mark Birschbach is the Vice President of Strategic Investments for the National Association of REALTORS® (NAR) and Managing Director of Second Century Ventures (SCV), the venture capital arm of NAR. SCV makes strategic investments in technology companies that are innovating in and around the residential and commercial real estate markets, keeping the REALTOR® at the center of the transaction. Mark is responsible for identifying, evaluating and executing strategic investments for SCV as well as supporting existing SCV portfolio companies. Mark is also responsible for the development and execution of SCV’s growth accelerator program, REach®. REach is a nine month program that launches early stage companies or companies new to real estate into the industry by providing them education, mentorship and exposure. Since becoming Managing Director of SCV and REach, Mark has grown the SCV and REach portfolio to over 40 companies. Mark currently serves on the Board of Directors of Trust Stamp, an SCV investment and REach® Class of 2016 company. Prior to joining SCV, Mark was a technology entrepreneur, serving as President and COO of two real estate tech startups. Prior to his startup experience, Mark was a Vice President in Investment Banking at Citi where he led transaction teams during the execution of M&A and capital markets transactions across a broad range of industries including a significant focus on technology, media and telecom. Mark is active in the entrepreneurial and technology communities serving as an advisor and consultant to several start-up companies. Mark received a BBA from the University of Notre Dame.

Director, Innovation Labs at Keller Williams Realty International

Adi Pavlovic is the director of KW Labs, the innovation hub of Keller Williams. He leads a team responsible for developing Keller Williams’ innovative consumer, agent and market center technologies through direct collaboration with the company’s real estate agents and consumers. KW Labs is dedicated to involving the real estate agent through all phases of product development, from ideation to minimum viable product and ultimately general availability. Pavlovic works closely with Keller Williams’ in-house product team to progress product development on Keller Cloud, alongside KW Labs, in order to validate concepts, designs and products through rapid prototype iteration cycles.
