1. Introduction to the RESO Data Dictionary
This is a primer on the RESO Data Dictionary, including its purpose, how it works, how to use it and how to contribute to it through RESO workgroups. Attendees also got an early look at upcoming Data Dictionary changes and explored the new RESO Data Dictionary website experience. | VIEW RECORDING

4. RESO Tools & Certification Testing
RESO’s tools for accessing, analyzing and certifying real estate data are explored, including the Desktop Client, Web Client, Reference Server and other utilities used by developers, MLSs and technology providers. Data Dictionary
- Adding fields to indicate the number of below/above grade bathrooms has been tabled, with more granularity to be considered.
- The proposal to extend the EntityEvent Resource in order to communicate a signal to remove fraudulent listings has also been tabled for the next workgroup meeting.
- The group explored options for clarifying that the InternetAddressDisplayYN field does not require that specific fields be nulled and that the decision to indicate those fields is an MLS-level business rule.

- Remove “/Cistern(s)” from the Rain Barrel/Cistern(s) lookup.
- Add the Land Property Type to the OtherStructures field (and its lookups).
- Add Porch as a new lookup to the ImageOf field.

Data Dictionary Subgroups
Duplication
The group discussed the new RESO Universal Mapping Initiative (UMI) and reviewed two potential new lookups for the Possession field: Seller Rent Back and Immediate. The group also recommended that the definition of ListingTerms be revised to specify that it is a description of the terms at closing. | NOTES
Fast Track
The group reviewed prior machine‑generated input along with its own returned items, generating several new recommendations for the Data Dictionary Workgroup. These include changing the name of the Golf lookup under CommunityFeatures to Golf Course, strengthening the definitions of the OfficeType lookups and suggesting Mobile Home as an addition to the StructureType field. Additionally, it was shared that the RESO UMI is going forward, and group members were encouraged to review recent results for the Possession and Disclosures fields. | NOTES
Global
The group reviewed recently approved recommendations and noted two fields currently open for a virtual vote. To improve engagement and mitigate issues with time zones, the group agreed to utilize online surveys to prioritize upcoming focus areas and to communicate updates to those unable to attend meetings. Additionally, the group plans to leverage new automated tools to efficiently identify high-use, nonstandard data elements from international member organizations. Finally, members discussed several pending fields, such as InternetPriceDisplayYN and CoolingAccess. Recently approved fields include Miles and Kilometers as additions to LinearUnits, as well as lookup fields for Heating Access, Hot Water Access and Electric Access. | NOTES
Major Changes
The group defined its role in evaluating and prioritizing breaking changes scheduled for Data Dictionary 3.0, setting a target deadline of Q2 2027 to finalize the content ahead of the planned Q4 2027 release. The group weighed implementing all convention changes at once vs. an incremental approach, concluding that a clear schedule is needed in either case. Outreach strategies were discussed, along with action items to integrate usage metrics into the list of data elements to be changed and creation of a dedicated space for feedback. | NOTES

Identifiers
The initial meeting focused on reviewing the Organization and System Identifiers Proposal. The proposal seeks to address the ambiguous use of existing fields like OriginatingSystemName and SourceSystemName by creating standard Organization and System resources, utilizing the RESO Unique Organization Identifier (UOI) and Unique System Identifier (USI) fields, respectively. | NOTES
Schools & Geographies
The group discussed standardizing school information and relationships between geographic identifier fields. Key points focused on establishing new fields, such as unique identifiers, grade ranges and school choice indicators in order to resolve naming inconsistencies and improve searchability. The importance of leveraging external frameworks was highlighted, like the National Center for Education Statistics and OData geospatial tools to enable accurate boundary mapping and reverse searching. Additionally, potential certification requirements and automated dataset updates were discussed. | NOTES
