Data Dictionary
Minor Change Release and Review Periods
The workgroup voted to adopt a quarterly release cadence for minor Data Dictionary versions, with a three-month review/comment period for version drafts before final ratification.
Portfolio Loan – Approved adding Portfolio Loan as a new lookup under the CurrentFinancing, BuyerFinancing and ListingTerms fields for Data Dictionary version 2.2.
Deprecating StreetNumberNumeric Field – Approved deprecating StreetNumberNumeric (Number) in version 3.0.
Deprecating the BathroomsPartial Field – A subgroup was formed in response to the pain points laid out in the Ambiguity and the Bathrooms Pyramid post. The group made the following recommendations, which were approved by the Data Dictionary Workgroup:
- Deprecate the BathroomsPartial field in Data Dictionary Version 3.0 (Major Version).
- Update the definition of BathroomsHalf field for Data Dictionary Version 2.1 (Minor Version) as follows: “A numeric field that indicates the number of half bathrooms in a property. A half bathroom typically includes a sink and a toilet but no bathtub or shower.”

Recent Entry:
Recent and Upcoming RESO Workgroup Meetings
Multi Family Property Type Subgroup | December 5, 2025
The group discussed potentially renaming the Residential Income PropertyType to Multifamily. To support this potential change, a survey was launched to gather term usage data, and research into public listing sites is underway to determine which term is more prevalent in the market. | NOTES
Global Subgroup | December 10, 2025
The group continues to utilize subject matter experts to vet potential additions to the Data Dictionary to enhance it for international use. The most recent recommendation to the ongoing proposal was to add a Floor field to provide the necessary level of address detail for international records. | NOTES
Fast Track Subgroup | December 16, 2025
The group revisited items on the Fast Track Suggestions Review sheet that lacked final decisions due to no longer being flagged for the reporting provider. Since these items are used by multiple providers, the group chose to decide on them now to prevent them from resurfacing as future tasks. A research item was identified to determine if the Utilities fields should be enhanced with more specific utility sources (e.g., County Sewer, Municipal Sewer), in addition to the more broad options like Public Sewer. | NOTES
New Construction Data Elements Subgroup | December 17, 2025
A survey was created to gather information on the different ways new construction information is communicated in MLSs and other systems, specifically whether they use the Property Resource, have a dedicated New Construction Resource or use another method. | NOTES
Data Dictionary Workgroup | December 18, 2025
The meeting included a request to update the “Synonyms” label to “Disallowed Synonyms” for fields in order to improve clarity. The group moved to relocate the Fractional Ownership synonym from Timeshare to Co-Ownership, add Lowcountry as a new ArchitecturalStyle lookup, and add Gas Dryer and Electric Dryer as new Appliances lookups. The request for additional virtual tour URL fields and a virtual tour type lookup will be reconsidered, factoring in the Media Resource. Further research will be conducted on the need for a residential CeilingHeight field, additional Electric lookups (e.g., Three Phase, Single Phase) and to assure the terminology aligns with common use. | NOTES
