Josh is the Chief Architect for RESO. He started in the industry in the 1990s as a cold caller for RE/MAX. He then joined Homeseekers.com, working with the Terradatum team as a programmer and DBA on the XMLSWeb MLS product, which grew to capture the majority of market share at the time. After that, Josh joined Heartland MLS, where he worked as the Enterprise Architect and Technical Services Manager for nearly a decade. It was at Heartland that Josh became active with real estate standards, starting with the RETS workgroups in 2001.
After Heartland, Josh went back to school at UC San Diego for Computer Science and Bioinformatics, where he also worked as a researcher. Before coming to RESO, Josh also founded a consultancy, kurotek, which has launched dozens of real estate products and startups, and worked at FBS as a Software Developer and Board Member.
Josh lives in the San Francisco Bay Area and attends UC Berkeley, studying AI/ML and Data Science. Lately he’s been working on Data Replication, Business Rules, and API and Data Standards, as well as building tools for RESO.
