RESO Weekly News Graphich 1.6.21

We’re back from the holidays and pretty excited about it!

We closed 2020 with a redeveloped pathway to certification for RESO Data Dictionary 1.7 and Web API 1.0.2 Core, and then followed that up with a new and simplified cloud-based version of our member collaboration software, Confluence. We anticipate offering several more inventions and reinventions in 2021 for increased levels of education, certification, interoperability, and identification. And that’s just for starters!

What we shared here last week bears repeating, because we’re willing to bet that you weren’t reading much work-related content from RESO during the winter holidays.

Happy New Year!

We made it. Now let’s make something of it.

RESO Member Collaboration System Has Changed

Confluence Cloud Update Graphic V.2 E1609785846681The new URL for our member site is https://reso.atlassian.net/.

RESO’s membership collaboration system, Confluence has been upgraded from a highly customized server-based system to a more out-of-the-box Confluence Cloud system.

The structure of the system is essentially the same but simplified. Although the transition has been fairly seamless, members will need to re-login to RESO’s Confluence Cloud when they first try to log in to the updated system. There will be a prompt to change or re-enter a password.

It’s slightly awkward, but members will inevitably have to select “Can’t log in?” and follow the prompts as though a new password is needed.

IMPORTANT: We are only carrying over members that have logged in since July 1, 2019. All other existing members on the old system are dormant within the new system, but access can be granted upon request through Confluence or by contacting RESO.

So if you have not logged in prior to July 1, 2019, don’t worry. Your membership is still active. If you are not able to establish a presence with the email you have on file with RESO, we will help you get re-established. Contact support@reso.org, and we’ll take care of you.

RESO UPI Survey Still Open

RESO’s UPI Workgroup is still requesting feedback on a brief survey about the Universal Property Identifier (UPI) and UPI Registry in order to meaningfully advance the team’s efforts towards this exciting resource for the real estate industry.

RESO UPIRefresher: Developed by RESO, the UPI is a standard way to reference a property. The specification includes support for identifying properties internationally in a hierarchical manner starting with the country. Using the UPI, we can reference a property in an unambiguous way, which is valuable for many use cases, including deduplication and globally unique references in different systems. Essentially, the UPI works by specifying a property’s “serial number” as a legally defined entity.

As an incentive for filling out the survey, RESO will randomly select one person to receive a new wireless Bluetooth speaker. If you are interested in being part of the speaker raffle, share your name and email address at the end of the survey.

Thank you for your participation. Your answers will help us evolve the UPI and UPI Registry.

The survey will be active until January 15, 2021. | TAKE THE SURVEY
