Recent Workgroup and Subgroup Activity
Data Dictionary Workgroup and Transport Workgroup / Certification Subgroup updates are now located in the Product Updates section above. All workgroup notes can be found in the RESO Workgroup Collaboration System powered by Confluence.
Data Dictionary Subgroups
Fast Track Subgroup
The group confirmed standard logic for handling edge‑case Flooring and Roof lookups, prioritizing data fidelity by avoiding suggestions that reduce specificity. They also removed Rammed Earth suggestions tied to “Berm” variations in ConstructionMaterials. Usage metrics for “City,” “County” and “Municipal” lookups in Sewer, WaterSource and Utilities were reviewed, with strong usage in the first two. A summary will be shared with the Data Dictionary Workgroup.
Global Subgroup
New SMEs from Ireland and Romania joined to support an evidence‑driven approach to global standards. Discussions centered on mapping complex international addresses to specific location fields, including potential additions like Stairwell, CommunityName and Viager (ListingTerms lookup). The group also reviewed a new DD Global: New Member Welcome Packet designed to streamline the onboarding process for future international contributors.
Multifamily Property Type Subgroup
Research confirmed “Multifamily” as the more common industry term, leading to a vote recommending that Residential Income be renamed to Multifamily for the Data Dictionary 3.0 release. Definition updates were deferred to the main workgroup, and the subgroup agreed that existing income fields (such as TotalActualRent) already cover income‑producing designations. The recommendation now moves to the Data Dictionary Workgroup for review.
Interoperability Workgroup
The group refined the Offer Management Data Flow Diagram, recommending the Universal Property Identifier (UPI) as a more reliable unique identifier than ListingId. Additional suggestions included adding an Acknowledged status, a Country field for international offers and event‑based timestamps to better track an offer’s lifecycle. The group also outlined a strategy for developing a new Appraisal Payload standard and prioritized outreach to SMEs.
Research and Development Workgroup
The group discussed a new strategy balancing refinement of existing standards with the development of new ones. AI permissions and environmental hazard fields remain on hold pending new information. The group also reviewed the Brokerage Data Standard Proposal from the Broker Advisory Workgroup, aimed at reducing fragmentation and improving interoperability across brokerage systems. Next steps include gathering SMEs and continuing discussions at the RESO 2026 Spring Conference.
